We believe a college essay should sound like the student who wrote it. This page explains our approach to artificial intelligence and academic integrity.

What We Do

Our coaches review drafts, ask questions, and give feedback to help a student find and sharpen their own voice. We do not write any part of a student's essay, and we do not use AI tools to generate, draft, or substantially revise student essay content.

What We Expect From Students

We expect every essay a student submits to colleges to be their own original work. We ask students not to submit AI-generated content as their own, consistent with the academic integrity policies of the colleges they are applying to.

How We Handle Student Materials

We do not upload student essays, transcripts, or other personal materials to AI tools, chatbots, or other third-party software unless we have specifically approved that tool in advance and confirmed it meets our confidentiality and security standards. AI tools will not be used without prior communication and your approval.

Why This Matters

An essay that doesn't sound like the student rarely serves them well in the admissions process, and submitting work that isn't genuinely the student's own can carry serious consequences with a college's academic integrity policies. We coach toward the student's authentic voice because it is both the right approach and the one most likely to help them.
